Why blockchain?

Trust/Trustlessness: The DuGut blockchain solution will enable trustless transactions between clients and causes to be created via our content management system and enacted autonomously via the DuGut App. These transactions can be activated by users, as they engage with content created by our clients (brands). Taking Action on the DuGut platform will lead to an automatic transaction and release of “sponsored” funds to the cause, associated with the Brand Action, through the use of backend smart contracts.

Transparency: We will provide full transparency for both our clients and users by logging the transactions which occur between advertisers and social organizations on an immutable blockchain. All Brand Actions smart contracts activated by a user are auditable, permanent, and can be verified on the public ledger. Whereas the task of Micro-Funding Causes would normally be impossible, as a large organization lacks the resources to verify the legitimacy of each transaction, they now have an easy solution to reduce the complexity of their sustainability efforts. Corporate Advertising campaigns, connected to a specific Sustainable Action can now easily micro-fund causes, using their corporate sustainable budget, and still receive tax benefits, without having the hassle of arduous bookkeeping to adhere to the “red-tape” and governmental regulations of each country they do business in.

Incentivization: For the younger generations there is another important driver than “Doing Good”, and that is for them to know, “What’s in it for me!” To stimulate long-term adoption and use; users, especially the younger generations, must be able to benefit from engaging in a community. We created a specific token on the blockchain for incentivization. The development of a gamified reward system around a fungible, market-traded token will incentivize users to engage in the system for self-benefit and accelerate the growth of community adoption. This allows us to easily integrate rewards into our 3D journey and landscape that creates a compelling experience for users that aids them in their real life, by being able to do good, and still pay for personal needs such as school tuition, rent, food, electricity bills, etc., as described in “Future Technology”.
